2001 - Centenary Year
2001 was the year of the Band's centenary. To mark the start of a year full of activities, the band held two Centenary Celebration Concerts at St John the Evangelist Parish Church, Penge, one on 27th January and one on 5th May.
The band visited Rudesheim in Germany for the August bank holiday weekend at wine festival time performing two successful concerts. The first was in Koblenz at the junction of the Rhine and Moselle. The second was at Berne-Kastel on the Moselle .

The highlight of the year was undoubtedly, the Grand Centenary Concert held on Saturday 27th October at Ravensbourne School, Bromley. The program included an arrangement by the Band's Musical Director, Michael Gray, of George Gershwin's Rhapsody in Blue, for Piano and Brass Band with guest soloist Karl Lutchmayer on Piano and two Solo Trombone items played by Duncan Wilson. As well as celebrating the Band's Centenary, the magnificent sum of £1,800.00 was raised throughout the year and that evening for St Christopher's Hospice.
